Lodging and Directions

Lodging: Each person is responsible for securing their own lodging. A block of rooms has been reserved for the ECW on Thursday, November 10th (for those who want a more leisurely arrival) and Friday, November 11th at the Courtyard Marriott–Duke University/Downtown Durham. The hotel is located at 1815 Front Street, just a two-minute drive across the bridge to St. Luke’s church.

The rate, including all taxes, is the same for a room with one king size bed or two double beds: $89.07. When making a reservation, make sure to say you are with the Episcopal Church Women. Food: Lunch is on your own on Friday, November 11th. Remember, registration and exhibits open at 12:30 pm. The meeting begins at 1:15 pm.

Dinner menu for Friday evening: A buffet-style dinner will include several entrée choices. Please check the box on the registration form if you would prefer a vegetarian alternative.

A Continental breakfast will be offered at the church on Saturday, November 12th.

An optional boxed sandwich lunch will be available on Saturday. The offerings include ham and cheese, turkey and cheese or pimento cheese on whole wheat. Please indicate your choice on the registration form.

Directions to St. Luke’s:

St. Luke’s (www.stlukesdurham.org) is located at 1737 Hillandale Road, Durham, NC 27705. The meeting will be held in the sanctuary and meals will be in Johnson Hall. The church grounds have ample parking.

From the South: Take I-85 N to Durham. Take exit 174 for Hilllandale Rd. Stay to the right and turn right on Hillandale. Keep to the right and look for the entrance to St. Luke’s immediately on the right after the turn.

From the West: Take I-40 E until it merges with I-85 N. Continue with the instructions under “From the South.”

From the East: Take US-64 W toward Raleigh. Take exit 423 to merge onto I-540 W toward US-1/Wake Forest/RDU Airport. Take exit 4B to merge onto US-70 W/Glenwood Ave. toward Durham. Continue to follow US-70 W. Merge onto I-85 S. Take exit 174B for Hillandale Rd. Turn left onto Hillandale Rd. and cross back over the highway. Keep to the right and look for the entrance to St. Luke’s on the right just past the highway.

Church to hotel: Turn left out of the church parking lot onto Hillandale. Cross over I-85, staying in the center lane. After passing the interstate exits go about a block and turn left onto Front St. Look for the Marriott sign on the left and turn left into the parking lot, then right to the front entrance.
