In reflecting on the ECW's theme, "Many the Gifts; Many the Works," it is necessary to be mindful of what is required of us. We pray, study and search carefully in order to become practitioners of our own calling, creating what we are particularly called to create with our gifts in our lives.
A Woman Jesus Can Teach by Alice Mathews is a book based on the New Testament women and how these women followed the teachings of Jesus to become true disciples. She writes that the word disciple means one who learns, one who follows. Discipleship is submission to an authority who is master at being what you want to become.
