“Transitions”

Location: St. Augustine’s University, 1315 Oakwood Avenue, Raleigh, NC 27610

[SAU was founded by Episcopal priests and initially opened as a school for former slaves. It was incorporated in July of 1867, making it one of the oldest historically black colleges and universities (HBCU) in the United States.]

When you arrive at St. Augustine’s main gate, stop at the information booth for directions to the parking area closest to the Prezell R. Robinson Library (which can be seen from the information booth.). The Episcopal Church Women’s gathering will begin in the library, near the main entrance. Volunteers will be present to guide you.

9:00 am: Check-in, fellowship, and a Continental-style breakfast (Library)

9:30 am: Welcome, introductions, and presentation by the Rev. Nita Byrd, SAU Chaplain (Library)

10:00 am: Morning Prayer in the historic St. Augustine’s Chapel

10:30 am: Business meeting, including the announcement of the Interim President of the Diocesan ECW and discussion about the transitions happening in The Episcopal Church at the diocesan and national levels. Information sharing and Q&A. (Chapel)

12:00 pm: Lunch (Library)

1:30 pm: Blessing and departure
